The TRANSGENE project has now entered into its last phase, which will run until the end of the grant, in September 2021. The main objective until the conclusion of the project is the submission of a monograph to Palgrave Macmillan provisionally entitled 'A History of Genomics across Species and Projects'. There will also be an international workshop and a number of articles will be published analysing the quantitative dataset  that the TRANSGENE team has produced.

The project’s Advisory Board met last January to discuss the strategy for this final push. They reviewed the data interpretation work that the team has conducted over the last two years and other qualitative evidence that the project has compiled. Their recommendation was to use both types of evidence to create a new historical account of genomics: the one that the monograph will hopefully convey.
